3 chez alice {vignettes}

a few snipperino's from alice's place recently. above is the pink shrine in the entrance hall (her boyfriend Si particularly loves this masculine look)

my favourite scene from her home since she moved in (above)

her collection of a's for alice is growing quite rapidly (again, something Si appreciates)

love the new navy shade on her gold lamp and my skull she's baby sitting gets a new look!

finally the view from her bedroom - heaven! and the sunsets even create an pink/orange ombre wall above her bed each night - spoilt!

3 i went shopping in NYC {without leaving the house} part three

this is part three of my shopping haul from a recent trip i did not make to NYC. lucky for me i have two very clever women in my life now that have got me down pat. S-I-L Alice and M-I-L Anne went to NYC for two weeks and came back with exactly what i would have bought myself had i gone. i still can't get over the goodness. this is the last lot, starting with the best coloured box, a sweet little hermes face wash, naturally this will not actually be used but will definitely pretty up the new bathroom!

alice always brings back cute coloured m&m's from her trips and keeps them displayed in cute glass jars (until i eat them) so i asked her to fill me up! (they spent over $80 in the m&m shop - issues?)

a little pad that is the polar opposite of me

and finally the best tea towel ever! thanks for shopping for me girls

can you imagine a more perfect trio? the munny on the left is a welcome addition to my light coloured family and he came with the best accessory i think i have ever seen (those goggles!) the bunny was a no brainer - white faceted animal? and then the little guy in the middle came from patricia fields shop and will be a good one for small vignettes.

stay tuned for the last pressie load

14 alice/new/home

my sister in law alice recently moved into a new place and it is HEAVEN! (moving day was very hard for the family hound willis - where are you going mum? you're not leaving me, right?) we spent the day (from 6:30am!!!) moving her in and creating little vignettes of goodness to keep us excited the whole time. she bought this chevron ginger jar on our trip to the armchair collective a while back, the dinosaur designs plate was reluctantly returned by me after a long sleepover at chez moi and the new licorice cire trudon was a gift from one of her friends.

her mum anne bought alice these insanely beautiful roses from summers floral in kirribilli

as well as these lilies - spoilt alice!

grouping things begins. the cushion is from target and the side table was a find on one of our op shop trips, it had a glass top which we removed and replaced with a stone tile leftover from my parents bathroom

the mirror was an absolute STEAL, her friend was cleaning out an interstate apartment and offered it to her for peanuts (very lucky girl) Alice's mum painted her old kitchen chairs in different colours (there is a bronze and white still to come) which look excellent with the neutral table cloth and other orange accents in the apartment

the bathroom is one of my favourite parts of this place, it is super fresh, i collected vintage glass topped containers for her over the past few weeks for her cotton wool and makeup remover pads. i loved her idea of using test tubes for her cu-tips!

bedside table vignette with a fresh diptyque, fresh roses (in her grandma's vintage vase) and a cute john derian 'a' plate (and, of course, a framed photo of willis)

the study nook with barely any room left for the computer - accessories always win!!!! anne painted this skull with a leopard print which alice has obviously stolen and claimed as her own! i think alice has done an amazing job with this place making it firmly 'her' (oh and her boyfriend simon also lives here but, like a lot of men, did not contribute to the styling, except for the dirty throw on the bed which we will NOT be showing)

hope you enjoyed le tour

Firstly, what an honour it is to be a ‘guest’ on C’s blog. I feel all fancy! Here are a few snaps of my bits and pieces. You can certainly see a similarity between our styles (now that we are officially sister-in-laws it’s probably going to continue to be this way!) Claud generously gave me the ‘For Like Ever’ poster for I think my 22nd birthday (a while ago). I just ADORE it and have included it in many vignettes over the years! The Marc Jacobs pencils are sitting in my favourite Kuhn Keramik mug {NB: purchase these at Serin Cini ploise}. The very orange Hermes bangle is sitting on the very orange John Derian plate – another one of my firm favourites.

The newest addition to my room is the gold lamp from Fig above. Claud bought it for me as a thank you gift for helping organise her wedding. Was certainly worth the 13,000 emails and the 22,000 phone calls! You can also see my current favourite stack of books, I do tend to mix them around a bit. Anything to do with New York & Paris always turns me on. And of course my favourite Louis chair. My grandmother (mama) originally owned this beauty, and Mum had it recovered for me as a special treat not that long ago. As you already know, I do love my leopard print!

Hope you have all enjoyed my little feature. I am new to this whole blogging thing. I can see how Claud is addicted to it though.

C & J I hope you are enjoying your honeymooooon and thinking of us all at work.

1 the professionals: anna malin/photographer

i was looking through alice's iphone pictures last night when i saw this one. she said she got it from ffffound - great, that won't take me long...i did a bit of exploring which led me to helt enkelt blog, founded by anna malin. she takes beautiful photos and her style is impeccable. she is also as obsessed with restyling her space to fit where she's at as i am, anna said "The day I stop reshuffling, beautify, build, enjoy change and style with simple means, well, I stop also likely to blog (sic)" i love how much this means to her, coupled with her insane talent, this one's a must read.

3 house envy: kates place

this weekend hannah and i shot/styled this beautiful cottage house on the north shore (with the assistance of alice). it's the residence of kate who - this comes as no suprise - is an interior decorator and owns a gorgeous interiors store in roseville called fig. kate has a really comfortable, achievable style that we found so appealing. everything in her place was easy to shoot because it was all so beautiful.

the library nook was chock full of classics, family photos and mementos from her travels - making you want to curl up in the huge chair with the glow from the red lamp and read a good book.

i am slighly obsessed with this garden stool. there are hundreds of them around but this paisley one is really quite beautiful.

who doesn't love something domed? especially when it's electric blue limoges.

i loved this oriental vignette - the silk chinoiserie chair is from her shop (as is alot of her beautiful accoutrement)

this cabinet makes me feel like i am in her store - sublime.

the monkey in the giant orchid got me straight away, reminds me of my t-rex. and who needs art on the walls when you have a backdrop like that? the whole back of the house has huge windows completely surrounded by green trees.

finally, the liquer cabinet, topped by two white lamps also availble at her shop. hannah's favourite shot from the day was this one on the right, i loved kate's vinatge silver cutlery and the pewter jug and coasters. i will be doing another post of some shots from inside kate's shop soon. plus i have definietly found the place that i will be choosing my fabric for project chair from - thanks Kate! and thanks for letting us shoot your beautiful home
