0 chateau peep

I have been changing things around slowly at Chateau Peep since my last shoot, new sofas, new art, new dining table base etc so I thought it was time to capture it all. Jacqui Turk came over for the day and this is the result! I will show you over a few posts, today its the lounge and dining room

I ordered this screen print on the left from Kate Banazi and knew the perfect compliment would be a big bold pinky, which Kate kindly custom made for me. The size of the art makes the room feel so much bigger. If you are interested in Kate's art you can peruse the range here.

2 newness

I like to think I have patience but the reality is I don't. We were talking about what we wanted to achieve this year and mine were all basically what I wanted to buy for the house, they're achievements right? Top of my list was a new mattress and second was new sofas. The mattress was bought pretty much the next day and then a certain someone happened to send me a link to some sweetness at West Elm that was at a price I couldn't say no to. So I bargained with myself, sell your current sofa for what the new ones cost and voila! No guilt required. But me being me, I decided that I couldn't wait for the sofa to sell (I had lots of enquiries from eBay and Gumtree mostly about where the cushions/lamps/coffee table were from) so I bit the bullet and bought the glorious performance velvet West Elm sofas with no bites on mine. Of course the new ones turn up and the old one hasn't sold so we disassemble the old one and store some in the bedroom some in the study (much to Jules annoyance) then magically last Saturday a guy came to see it and offered me my asking price which was a little more than the two new sofas! Bloody beauty

I'm so much happier with the two sofas as opposed to a modular, this feels much more grown up and 'me'

2 chateau peep

Ever since I've been doing the Bondi house I have been in a mood. Mood equals I want to change everything in my house. I had a quick insta sale of my coffee table and a few other things et voila, handy cash for newness! New West Elm coffee table, new artwork (painted by my mother in law), new cushions from an Etsy store, switched out my blue lamps for these neutrals (again from West Elm) and got some props out of the holiday cupboard. The horse bookends were a vinnies find for $10! Now I'm getting new art for the dining room (watch this space) and I got new lamps for the bedroom and fresh new linen, post to come!

Now what I reeeeeeealy want is 2 new sofas, no more sectional but being on mat leave means I can't make crazy expensive decisions like that so it will have to wait...

1 new issue of adore out now

The new issue of Adore Home Magazine came out last Friday, it's the family issue and features a shoot Han and I did at the home of Little Dwellings in Sydney (that's her on the cover) and my nursery, it's also full of other lovely swoony product to add to the virtual cart, go give it a read!

1 garcon

Sorry for the grainy pic, promise the nice nursery shots are coming soon with the new issue of Adore :) I was devastated that my custom Etsy decal did not arrive until the Monday after our Saturday shoot for the nursery (sods law) so you will have to trust me that it looks really good in situ. I desperately wanted a neon sign for the room but it's too costly to make a quick decision, my compromise was the decal from Etsy seller Decal Chic, they do any word any colour any size, amazing! I had to make do and switch things up for the shoot which I still think turned out beautifully it just wasn't completely done (is a room ever completely done though?) The leather skate deck was a gift from my clever friends and they make to order if you are interested let me know! So in reality, the change pad will sit on top of the drawers and the deck will be lounging elsewhere probably being tripped over each night in my groggy state. I had to restrain myself with the white toys, I have a bazillion of them and didn't want to overwhelm the poor dresser, and how good are my drawer handles? Little ebony panther heads, so in love. Stay tuned for the shoot in full in the new Adore mag in a few days

2 chateau peep : office close up

Loni featured my office on the blog a little while ago (as well as in the mag) and I thought I would share some more pics. Especially since I am pretty much saying goodbye to this bright-as-can-be look. What sucks with me though is that it takes me a while to get to a completed new look, I like to find 'the perfect' things (I am v. picky), so the office now sits in a state of flux, pink desk, rug, old chair and a few accoutrements but nothing significant on the walls etc. makes me not want to be in here. I wish there was some insane comfy sofa office chair I could buy, I'm sick of hard plastic chairs!

2 mini me

I bought this gold pen holder cage thing-y from Country Road a while ago and it was sitting on my coffee table mostly as a little accoutrement. Jules kept referring to it as our dining table as the look was very similar. I decided it was too tempting to not try and recreate the look and thought the best place to showcase the final effort was atop her mother. The tiny Panton chairs were $5 a piece from Glicks Furniture and the marble top is a cheese board - tres adorable, non?

0 bedroom needs a new look

I hate my bed. I recently went on a grown ups shopping trip with a co-pregnant friend to buy a very grown up bed (see you later $5000) and came away with severe bed shame/envy. The ones we tried were so comfy and sink-y in it was almost embarrassing (we are both 7+ months pregnant and could barely keep our eyes open every time we lay down) It made going to bed that night a bad experience. I immediately went and changed all my linen and made a big fuss of old bed to try and make it more palatable but no such luck, she still squeaked and shook every time one of us rolled over (and let me tell you, me rolling over now is kind of like an small earthquake, especially as I have to reposition my DreamGenii pillow every time) Anyway, I digress, I now want a new bed which is probably not going to happen any time soon and I want new bedside tables. I am over not having any drawers to keep it looking clutter free and I am in need of new lamps too to go with the new look. I found these mid century modern's from West Elm which I am quite besotted with

Then while on their website found these nice simple lamps too

Add in some delicious Rachel Castle bed linen and this Missoni throw and I think I am good to go, is this what they call the nesting phase?

3 preggers update

So when I say pregnancy update I actually mean nursery update. This is what I have so far. IKEA drawers are on their way, cot (got), rugs (got), throw (obvs), mobile (came all the way from Paris), cardboard graffiti stool (purch'd on weekend from Top3) and chair (got). I will also assure you I have got some boring stuff like onsesie's etc but they're not nearly as fun to write about, surely? Plus a quick update to say I'm over 7 months now, officially on the down hill run and in the 3rd trimester. Thoughts that I actually have to get this kid out of me are becoming a little too real and I am doing my best to keep them at bay with nicer thoughts of Missoni lumbar cushions (is that really abnormal?) The countdown is on to finishing work too! Only 9 more weeks to go

0 a new look for the office

Remember how I said it was nice to see how things have changed in my place on Wednesday? See? The office got a new look with the arrival of the Bludot Strut all in the same issue :) This was shot for Adore Home Magazine by Jacqui Turk and wouldn't you know, I'm already on the hunt for new pieces to work in with my monotone obsession, watch this space...

3 June adore featuring chateau peep

Thrilled to be featured in the new issue of Adore Home Magazine! This shoot was a while ago so it's exciting to see the final product and also how much things have already changed in my home (of course) Click on this link to see the full feature and see all of the shots taken by Hannah

I can't believe it's actually here! The Adore Home Book is officially in residence and I am thrilled to bits to have so much of my work included (and my own place). Hannah and I worked for months on shooting these gorgeous spaces and the people in them. I implore you to track yourself down a copy if you haven't already, there is so much to be inspired by and the book looks bloody good on the coffee table too! These shots are only some of what I have in there so go have a read to see it all

Well done Loni x

0 the light

My latest op shop find - this large Hermes orange gourd lamp - $20 score. It's not ceramic so not as heavy as you would expect, I think she fits perfectly in with the new surrounds.

I also found this marble lamp base at Salvo's which I thought was going to take pride of place on le desk but when I found the big fat orange he got relegated to the holiday cupboard. I'm going to find a nice black shade to go with it.

2 she's here

My delicious Bludot watermelon Strut desk arrived this week and ain't she a b.e.a.u.t.y!? I have yet to give her the full peep treatment but already I'm in love. I bought her a treat for her arrival, this Nate Berkus for Target mustard decorative chain (below) found on eBay for a steal. It's also nice to finally break out my Hermes post-its. Now the only thing missing is my Hermes tray...hint hint husband

2 around le house

While I am patiently waiting for my new Bludot Strut desk to arrive (and the office is empty) I have set up shop on the dining table. Lots of space, lovely marble surface and I can see the telly from my seat! Real Housewives while blogging is highly recommended...
