2 le office part deux

You are going to think I'm insane but ever since I got my Bludot Strut I haven't been able to quite get my office right again. I was going for the Jenna Lyons look but it really didn't work in the space so I'm kind of back to square one, that was until I came across Kate Banazi's latest work below which I immediately snapped up. This drew me straight back to my all time favourite room (above). Lovely Kate is going to make me a matching piece in pink, VERY excited about this!

To introduce some black I ordered Hee Wellings AAC 20 About A Chair in all black from Cult Design and bought IKEA's new Lohals rug for a little warmth, my gold and cream Stephan lamp from Regency Distribution will still work in here then all that's left is a little golden fleece in the form of some Mongolian fur for the chair and accessories!

In my head it looks FAB and a little like this...

2 chateau peep : office close up

Loni featured my office on the blog a little while ago (as well as in the mag) and I thought I would share some more pics. Especially since I am pretty much saying goodbye to this bright-as-can-be look. What sucks with me though is that it takes me a while to get to a completed new look, I like to find 'the perfect' things (I am v. picky), so the office now sits in a state of flux, pink desk, rug, old chair and a few accoutrements but nothing significant on the walls etc. makes me not want to be in here. I wish there was some insane comfy sofa office chair I could buy, I'm sick of hard plastic chairs!

1 le office

Okay, so about a year ago I posted this love fest on Jenna Lyons office which subsequently led to me making the Bludot Strut purchase which you saw in the latest issue of Adore Magazine. I have since moved the zebra rug to the nursery so the office is shirtless, until last weekend when I bought the Freedom Melibu rug (on serious sale). I want a bit more of a mid century modern look like Jenna's only much less cluttered. Next step toward this is the Mouille floor lamp which I am oh-so-close-it-hurts to purchasing followed swiftly by a black chair. What I am secretly hoping is that I will stumble upon a gem at Vinnies or Salvos, and who knows, someones trash may be my pretzel chair!

0 a new look for the office

Remember how I said it was nice to see how things have changed in my place on Wednesday? See? The office got a new look with the arrival of the Bludot Strut all in the same issue :) This was shot for Adore Home Magazine by Jacqui Turk and wouldn't you know, I'm already on the hunt for new pieces to work in with my monotone obsession, watch this space...

2 she's here

My delicious Bludot watermelon Strut desk arrived this week and ain't she a b.e.a.u.t.y!? I have yet to give her the full peep treatment but already I'm in love. I bought her a treat for her arrival, this Nate Berkus for Target mustard decorative chain (below) found on eBay for a steal. It's also nice to finally break out my Hermes post-its. Now the only thing missing is my Hermes tray...hint hint husband

4 the contender

The Bludot medium sized Strut in watermelon ala Jenna Lyons is a real contender for my new office look, no it's not oval but it is different from anything I've had before, going to see it in person next week to make up my mind!

1 farewell friend

This week I bid farewell to my desk. An old friend actually came out of the woodwork and bought it. Now the blank slate begins! but before I forget my office roots, lets take a look back at her best hits...

I'm excited for a new chapter in office decoration, now to find the desk...

1 revisiting an old favourite

My lovely reader Alyssa just keeps sending me the best inspiration! The most recent is Erika Brechtel from Small Shop Studio's office. I posted about it a while back here in 2011 and now she has had a revamp - loving it Erika! Click here for a full home tour

4 the new office

So, as I have previously stated, I need a new look for my office. Not ridiculously different but something fresh. I can't get a glossy black round/oval table out of my head (I tend to get fixated and then decorate from there). I am also in the market for an X bench upholstered in velvet or leopard (but obv if it's in my office I can't have leopard to clash with the zebra) I want something a little darker and more glam. This Chinese Chippendale chair has zoomed right up to the top of my lust list. Anyone know of a Sydney stockist? Let the fun begin!

1 moody

Han and I have a fun shoot coming up on the 20th and I need to make a mood board. This is my first go at getting all my stuff together. I am going to do it free style on the actual wall on the day but thought I would get a head start of at least having all my 'things' in the one place. Here are some pretty major mood boards to get my head into gear...

4 office mood board

As I have previously mentioned, I feel a lot of pressure with this room in my new place. I really want something different - a new look. I am feeling a pastel - mint, lilac and pink (of course) with a fresh white backdrop and a little gold, there's always a little gold. The time is coming for me to start buying some delights to make this happen! Brass pencil holder - tick, desk - tick, rug - tick, France, not France at the framers, Praia Piquinia also at the framers, lamp from Regency Distribution is very close to being bought (I just have to make sure it's yellow gold I want) then there's the all important chair, I have been holding out hope I will find some amazing gem while traingling but I am losing hope, fingers crossed for this weekend!

2 lately

I found these gold dining chairs at Salvos, yes they made my heart flutter but after a bit of investigating I discovered they would cost over $100 per chair to reupholster, after which I may as well buy newies so I left them for some other lucky hunter. I did, however come away with this little sheep seat warmer below...

and then...we got a belated wedding gift! Hurrah for Jules best man taking his sweet time, now we have a zebra cow hide to tart up le office

I scored this acrylic facet object at Vinnie's for a few dollies which makes a nice coffee table friend for my DD vase don't you think?

And yes, yet another dining room pic, I am going to get a quote for an acrylic table top and may get 5 more of these Karim Rashid's to go around. Slowly slowly........

0 le office (pre workin' it)

I feel the most pressure with this room! How am I going to make it more fresh than before? This is how it's going to stay for a while until inspiration hits me, I am thinking a new rug, maybe zebra cow hide, I can't have amazing-ness above the desk anymore as there's a window (at least I have a nice leafy view out there), Alice suggested a hanging sculpture above the desk, I am feeling that but I am not sure what to make...suggestions?

Stacks remain property of the floor for the moment

Here is the bookshelf I bought for the rear wall, so much vignette-ing to be done! (Freedom Phantom)

Working for a not for profit organisation does not lend itself to having a fabulous office, it is my fantasy to walk into work everyday knowing something like the office of J Crew Creative Director Jenna Lyons is waiting to inspire. That coral desk! that pink fur seat throw! the lamp! the rugs! the mix of chairs! and then there's the inspiration wall, I mean, who wouldn't be inspired to come to work everyday with a spring in the step?
