I note that I have been lax in my op shopping posts, I think it's because I'm getting more picky. Or maybe because I'm pretty bloody busy right now preparing for bebe, working a big job and trying to keep up my fun creative work. I bought these shelves. I will paint and add tinted perspex (?) and SELL TO YOU! (if you want)

I didn't buy these table bases as I do not need any more tables. If there's anything you ever see me instagram and want me to purch for you ;let me know! Pick up in Sydney only

I feel like I haven't been on my game lately, although I did find that orange gourd lamp, but still I feel like the volume has decreased. Maybe I'm being more fussy when it comes to op shopping? I am on my way to getting the shop part of my website up and running, there will be a part for Closet Cleanouts, home wares which will be called Chateau and also styling services. I am excited to get more out of my blog and hopefully share some of my finds with you all. But I digress, I found this sweet little green vessel at Salvos, it reminded me so much of the movie Return to Oz when she goes into the room and has to touch everything shaded emerald to save all her friends. The scarf was a consignment shop find, so a little bit cheaty for this post but still a bargain! The Vinnies sofa below is still dancing around in my head. The shape was FAB and the batik print would be oh so right in the right girls home, I can just see some magenta velvet throw cushions on there...

My latest op shop find - this large Hermes orange gourd lamp - $20 score. It's not ceramic so not as heavy as you would expect, I think she fits perfectly in with the new surrounds.

I also found this marble lamp base at Salvo's which I thought was going to take pride of place on le desk but when I found the big fat orange he got relegated to the holiday cupboard. I'm going to find a nice black shade to go with it.

This glass and lucite side table was hard to walk away from, thinking back on it, I wish I bloody got it! This pair of green velvet chairs would look amazing with a teal or pink makeover

I am always going to be attracted to a vintage chair, add in some rose velvet and I'm sold. Had these sweet little shelves been bigger I would have snapped them up...

I am deeply in love with this sweet little torn ceramic French vase from Via Rustica. It is screaming for a display or some heavy vignette work. I also bought this faceted hurricane from Freedom last week. It works in nice and pretty with my other pointy belongings (because my dining table just isn't angular enough!)

I spy with my little eye this blue dresser, perfect condition at only $80 alas my car was not big enough to swallow this one...

And lastly I succumbed to the t-shirt trend of the season and bought me one of these from MLM st DJs

I found these gold dining chairs at Salvos, yes they made my heart flutter but after a bit of investigating I discovered they would cost over $100 per chair to reupholster, after which I may as well buy newies so I left them for some other lucky hunter. I did, however come away with this little sheep seat warmer below...

and then...we got a belated wedding gift! Hurrah for Jules best man taking his sweet time, now we have a zebra cow hide to tart up le office

I scored this acrylic facet object at Vinnie's for a few dollies which makes a nice coffee table friend for my DD vase don't you think?

And yes, yet another dining room pic, I am going to get a quote for an acrylic table top and may get 5 more of these Karim Rashid's to go around. Slowly slowly........

1 delightful finds

I have been rather successful in my op shopping of late, prime example was finding my sister in law Alice new dining chairs. My honeypot Goodwill came through with these pale pink beauties. Alice has promised to keep us all updated with their makeover so stay tuned!

These stone coffee tables were very hard to pass up, the perfect neutral shade.

I thought this sofa was sweet in all it's pale pink glory

I purch'd this glass Alexander Wang ashtray (for decoration purposes only ;)) and when I posted it on Instagram someone tagged Alexandra Von Furstenberg who then got her Director of Operations in on it saying they were direct copies of hers WHOOPS! Let's see them disappear off Mr Wang's website now. Click here to see AVF's designs.

I had a visit to Mitchell Road Antique Centre and came across this insane chair at Drawing Room Theory, isn't it heaven?

Until next time peeps...

4 the mother load

I hit the mother load last week at vinnes on whilst triangl-ing. This dining table and chair set was sitting there right at the front of the furniture section, I ran towards it JUST as someone was putting a sold sticker on it - for the princely sum of $165 for the lot, kill me now. I had to congratulate him on his fine purchase and asked if I could snap a pic, he was very obliging (unlike some others have been) and when his wife came along she was beside herself with excitement and we quickly started discussing how she was going to reupholster them. That is when a little shot of gold caught my eye. Just to the left of me was the MOST delicious brass dining table base I have ever seen (below), she was totally giving Ms. Wearstler. I yelled at the nearest guy 'give me a sold sticker, pronto!' I left the hexagonal smoky glass top (a little too 80's for my taste) and loaded her in my car. I am beside myself with joy for this find and cannot wait to get into a new place to put her to use. I am thinking of using the marble top to my tulip table. Watch this space to see her in situ in the not too distant future...
