1 clothes

I'm not one of those women who have embraced pregnancy when it comes to fashion. I have struggled big time to walk out of the house feeling good about myself. People keep saying but you've finally got this baby inside you you've been trying for so long for and I'm thinking, yes but I feel like crap and look yuck and the bebe isn't even really real to me yet! I say if you feel yuck when you're preggos you are entitled to feel that way and do things that make you feel a teensy bit better, even if it is a material satisfaction. So, this brings me to this post, speedily on it's way to me is this blush bonded trench from Topshop (I was texting a shopping pro girlfriend about where to find a good anorak in green and eventually texted her this photo saying I found the perfect one, a little further from a green anorak but I feel in love so who cares) Then I accidentally went into Parlour X and walked out with these Marants (above). They were on sale and I felt like they were the fanciest I am going to get in the shoe department so they were ok, plus it would be rude not get them as they were literally the last pair on sale in my size, and when you're a 41 you take every opportunity that comes your way! I also couldn't live without these second skin black maternity jeans from Just Jeans. After months of torturing myself with a hairband extending my regular jeans I finally made the switch and feel like I can breathe again.

Then there are the temptresses that you know you don't need because Country Road do a great version but they're so special you really can't get them out of your mind. Take this Kenzo grey knit jumper with handy side slits for the growing belly also from Parlour X and the Marc by Marc Jacobs Eliz-a-baby bag from Shopbop. Don't you hate it when you feel like these are the missing pieces to your wardrobe puzzle that will finally make it complete? (that is until you see something on Net-a-Porter) Other than this I haven't really bought anything I can't wear again (oh yes I got these jeans from ASOS but I'm forever having to pull them up and I got this cute baseball tee) Let's be honest, it's going to be a while until I get back into my regular clothes so maybe the investment isn't such a bad idea? See! convincing myself again :)

I have been culling my girlfriends wardrobes and selling it on eBay for a few years now. More recently my SIL wanted in on the action and we have been getting lots more business. We have one on it's first re-list now and are about to do a monster clean out to be posted by this sunday. Check us out as we have new wardrobes going up each month. All items are of course authentic and are a range of sizes, styles and ages.

The wrapping process is Alice's favourite part

2 wedding dilemma

I paid a visit to Blue Spinach in Darlinghurst last week and fell in love with this Vanessa Bruno blazer. I happen to be looking for an outfit for my brother in law's wedding in August and feel like this is the starting point. It's a night wedding in a cool warehouse space so you can dress a little more risque than perhaps you could at a day wedding. The fabric of the jacket is very dressy - perfectly tailored. I want to keep it very Claudia and not go too girly, so when I saw these gold pants at Carla Zampatti the outfit was complete in my head, add a slouchy/silky tee and heels et voila!? I have the pants ordered in so hopefully they look as good on as they do in my mind ;) God I hate dressing up!

3 blue jean

I can't get enough of denim. I wear it everyday. Navy denim, pink denim, washed denim, ripped denim, denim shirts, the list goes on. I even go so far as double denim. I am a woman obsessed. At the moment I am feeling electric blue with my denim after seeing this picture of Man Repeller, I want an electric blue coat but the reality of me actually wearing it is slim to none, so I may need to settle for some electric blue shoes or this Benah metallic snake bag. Seems to me you need a statement bag to accompany your Double Denim if Tommy Ton's pictures are anything to go by...time to bring out my old Balenciaga again! (or treat myself to the Benah, I really can't get it out of my mind)

0 im feeling

I'm feeling this outfit, part 'I've just popped out for something while painting my house' part 'but I really need fab accessories to make it acceptable'. I could live in baseball tees and ripped jeans, if I could wear this to work I would. I am not very fancy when it comes to clothes, the more casual the better, hence the slip on Vans. I have asked my very kind cousin to send this Zara bad boy over (1/3 of the price in the UK) and am in the market for a new pair of sunnies, these Tom Ford Bardot's are a classic. And where would I be without a candle? This one is limited edition Yazbukey for Cire Trudon available from Net-a-porter, they describe it as a violet and leather medley - delicious

1 serpent and the swan / bones

My brother in law's fiance Hayley has an AMAZING fashion label Serpent and the Swan with her sister Lauri. They recently showed at fashion week here in Sydney and included some delightful curiosities. I gave them a few bags full of a cow skeleton from my uncles farm a while back and they turned them into the most incredible objects d'art (below). To say I am obsessed with these copper dipped delights is an understatement, the only question is which one do I buy?!? SATS have also included bookends and coasters in the collection which you can order by contacting them through their website here

Working for a not for profit organisation does not lend itself to having a fabulous office, it is my fantasy to walk into work everyday knowing something like the office of J Crew Creative Director Jenna Lyons is waiting to inspire. That coral desk! that pink fur seat throw! the lamp! the rugs! the mix of chairs! and then there's the inspiration wall, I mean, who wouldn't be inspired to come to work everyday with a spring in the step?

2 in zid {the wares}

all pics via meadowlark click here to purch

There is an amazing shop in the heart of Queenstown called Seletti who stock bassike, sass and bide etc plus lots of yummy home wares. I always visit this shop when I'm in town but it's the New Zealand designers that excite me the most, and I was in NZ designer heaven when we visited 47 Frocks in the little town of Wanaka. It was jam packed full of NZ goodness: Karen Walker, Zambesi, Deadly Poines, Meadowlark and more. Seriously, I could have done a complete wardrobe overhaul with all that joy, totally wearable and not too trendy. Take this putty hued Deadly Ponies Bag soft as butter, easy peasy to wear slung across the body and completely understated, or the Zambesi Jetson reflector shades in the most perfect shape (below). I also fell in love with these KW shades (modelled on my instagram) and this Deadly Ponies Mr Mini Zip n Fil in fur (below below) Then there are the real finds like this Meadowlark skull jewellry box (above) which comes in black white and lilac, the chicest in jewellery storage.

I just wanna sell all my things and go on a huge IN ZID shopping spree, join me?

4 dylan kain

i was first alerted to this new aussie label Dylan Kain via the ever more useful instagram, it was love at first sight. i needed wanted a smaller bag (so i don't get scoliosis from mr wang) but never found anything that fit the bill, until now. meet the rodriguez (above), perfect size, colour, shape, a few shoulder strap options and it fits all my essentials in very neatly. I got mine with silver hardware as I don't wear yellow gold much (I'm a rose girl through and through) from a beautiful boutique on South Dowling street in Surry Hills called Desorde. they also stock this little beauty below called the wax, it was a toss up between the two but the rodriguez won because of the option of the leather strap (the metal won't tarnish as much with less skin contact) he has lots of lovely bags and accessories which you should check out here

3 if only

if only i had this double jersey black and white stripe tee from bassike my wardrobe would be complete. do you ever think that? if you only had that one piece it would be the key to making your whole wardrobe work? (until something else is magically that key also) i know i know, i'm kidding myself but for now, just believe me, i really want it tand it was from seasons past and they are not re cutting it in exactly the same way. new versions are all slub, navy, or black and cream, not that sharp black and white with the medium stripe. i have an ebay alert for all bassike striped goods now so fingers crossed!

3 bonjour marin!

my girl ChipChop! has come out with a brand spanking new range for S/S12 called Bonjour Marin! (hello sailor) and it's an AB (absolute beauty) (don't you love her use of exclamations? they make everything seem fun and exciting!) think tie dye leather jackets, soft scarves and sorbet coloured raglan tees, and of course there are the usual suspects: witty tees, silk dresses and skinnies

my picks are the soda pop raglan, the seven seas scarf in latte rope and the jewel in the crown - this jack sparrow leather jacket freakin' swoon!

5 i knew i was cool...

i knew i was cool (despite what my husband said) when i wore this nike sweater with my denim and some gold miu miu's. he told me that i had made a mistake (he actually said 'whoopsies, you made a mistake' which is something we reserve for when we see particularly poorly dressed people - we're total bitches) and i tried to explain that this look is super cool and hasn't he read vogue lately? well ha! this street style pic from the daily movement proves it, i am cool (but not as cool as the daily movement) and now all i need is some more jewelry and a red nail. see you soon nail salon!
