if i wasn't using mums clutch for my wedding this is the one i would use. i have been obsessing over it for a while now and the wedding would have been the perfect excuse to make that purchase. looks like i will have to find another reason now! p.s. i know i posted about another clutch that was THE perfect bag which is probably showing how fickle i can be - at least i still love my dress! oh and i just found this one on sale at net-a-porter

6 the farm

my family went down to my aunt and uncle's farm over the break, it's only about 3 hours out of sydney but it seems like a million miles away. they have only lived there for about 3 years and have slowly been doing it up so i thought i would share some photos of my aunties great style.

the table was $5, i nudged it and about 100 tiny spiders fell out, apparently a wasps bounty!

most of these old bottles were found buried on the property and the vintage milk carrier is the PERFECT home for them.

1 in the bedroom

i am in the mood for some new cushions. i want fresh white linen with four big fat natural linen cushions on the bed. i want them to be karate chop-able and all squishy. i want the bed to be a place you want to dive into and be all fresh. i just wish we weren't renting and could do something about the hideous blush carpet that has seen better days! it makes me want to make less effort because it will never look exactly how i want it (floor boards obv.) i don't even think a rug will make it better, unless it's really big and covers the whole floor! actually, maybe i should look into that. and then there's the issue of the bed head. it's definitely on my 'to buy' list for the new year. here is some inspiration..

i am especially enamoured with elin kling's bed head (bottom left) - the mix of the mushroom bed head with the white linen and gold lamps, heaven!

new york based fashion photographer roxanne lowit allegedly created the backstage 'scene' after being snuck backstage by her supermodel friends (jerry hall et al) in the 70's. looking through her portfolio it's clear to see how much access she actually had and the fact that her pictures were used by every major magazine cemented her as a fashion photographer force to be reckoned with. she has since published 3 books: moments, people and backstage dior. click here to peep some more of her work.

2 this week

it's a vogue FRENZY this month with vogue UK, vogue australia, vogue living australia and vogue paris and they are all GREAT issues. vogue paris in particular is a beauty this month and it's huge, more like a september issue. my favourite discovery of the issue was kate moss' collection for french jeweller fred. think tiny tiny diamond encrusted stars, moons and anchors and thin as a wisp stacking rings. not sure when/where i can get my mits on some but it's my mission to find out! click here to peep the collection

my sweet, sweet beloved walked past a national geographic shop and bought this for me knowing my love for dinosaurs. this one's great because she is soft and bendable

my beautiful friend jacqui ~~pilfered~~ bought me these gardenias, she got me two big fat bunches and my ENTIRE place now smells of sweet gardenia

finally, i bought two vase options from ebay for the wedding. the ball jar on the left is too tall and slim and the beaker may be too polarizing. it all depends on something special i am waiting on from etsy. i was actually contacted by the florist and she said she may be able to get the vases i desperately want so fingers crossed, not sure how she will react when i tell her we are doing the flowers ourselves! keep you posted peeps...

dying to get my mits on this set of books. photographer koto bolofo was the first person allowed full access to the hermes workshops and he certainly took his time - the 11 volume beauty took over 8 years to complete. hopefully it was well worth the wait! they are on sale in hermes now.

dear glossy box, i do not have frizzy hair and i am not a male, i also do not wear maroon lip liner, this is why i took the time to fill out your extensive beauty profile, so i wouldn't open my box to find hair fudge and frizz ease, rather, i would find product that actually related to my needs that YOU asked me about. i will give you another chance in case next time you redeem yourself.
