0 the print collective

I just stumbled across the Print Collective, a website dedicated to delivering high quality art in small editions. I LOVE Neil Bailey's Mugshot (above) These are limited run and well priced, perfect for someone who wants something original without paying a huge price!

There is a great wide hallway after the main entrance which is screaming for a vignette. My brother in law McLean Stephenson is a photographer and we are hoping to include some of his work in the house. Here is my first idea for the hallway. The Bludot strut console fades into the background and the photograph does ALL the talking

These exquisite photographs of Hutt Lagoon in Western Australia are taken by Steve Back. The salt lake is pink due to the presence of algae - how can I live in Australia and not know about this? NEXT TRIP!

4 the professionals: hugh holland/photographer

i was scrolling through leanne citrone's coveteur'd home when i came accross this beauty - 'down on the corner' 1975, Balboa Beach by photographer hugh holland from his locals only series. leanne also had some amazing work by banksy, damien hirst, massimo vitali and chuck close (oh, and some enviable attire) but it was hugh's work that attracted me most, i love the 70's surf/skate culture photographs and would love to start my collection with this one. here are a few more from hugh that tickled my fancy

flipping through this months vogue introduced me to american photographer ryan mcginley. i always find it so interesting how someone can look at something i see so differently and capture it in a way i never thought existed, i am starting to appreciate photography so much more after starting this blog, and its so handy having a photographer as a BFF to teach me! but back to ryan, i really love the washed out colours in some and the vibrancy of others, click here to peep the rest of his work.

after doing a little research with the home of david collins, i discovered interior photographer simon watson and the house he shot in east hampton for H&G - those murakami toadstools are sensational! the estate is owned by an avid contemporary art collector as evidenced throughout the rest of the house, click here to peruse...

3 on a mission

i am on a mission to find this one particular photo of my dad's parents for the wedding. it's one of them walking down the street in the city, he is wearing a 3 piece suit, she is wearing a pencil skirt and fox fur with felt hat. i used to look at this photo all the time wondering how they managed to be so chic just for a trip to the city. when i find it i will post it. anyway, this meant that i uncovered all my old polaroids. the ones above are, as you can see, of lindsay lohan. a girlfriend of mine is a stylist and did some work with her at one stage, she was doing a throw out/garage sale and i snaffled these polaroids from a shoot (along with some chanel scarves and my 'park bench') the polaroids below are from one of me and hannah's LA trips, we had SO MUCH FUN on those trips (incidentally, she wants to go on one more this year but with BOTH our weddings (!!!) i don't know if this will be possible) maybe next year H

0 roxanne lowit/eye candy

new york based fashion photographer roxanne lowit allegedly created the backstage 'scene' after being snuck backstage by her supermodel friends (jerry hall et al) in the 70's. looking through her portfolio it's clear to see how much access she actually had and the fact that her pictures were used by every major magazine cemented her as a fashion photographer force to be reckoned with. she has since published 3 books: moments, people and backstage dior. click here to peep some more of her work.
