There is a great wide hallway after the main entrance which is screaming for a vignette. My brother in law McLean Stephenson is a photographer and we are hoping to include some of his work in the house. Here is my first idea for the hallway. The Bludot strut console fades into the background and the photograph does ALL the talking

1 peep loves (october)

Hello October! God how quick did that happen? My small fry is now 1 month old, that definitely happened too quickly, he's already getting so big. This month Peep Loves Autumn de Wilde's reflector sculptures (above) and in the same vein, this reflector chair below by Pitaya Designs Random 8 chair. I loved watching this '73 questions' video at Vogue of Reese Witherspoon for the house perve (watch the whole series here), Country Road Active is on it's way!

The Dalo cushions from Country Road (above), this gorgeous mid century mini desk from West Elm, these Fleur Jacobs plug in lights from The Minimalist, this insane Louis Vuitton Dauphine wallet from Blue Spinach, the Saffy table lamp and Cup floor lamp from Domayne, this tour of SJP's townhouse (it's incredible, completely in love)

and how could I not include a pic of my #georgeteddy in peep loves? He's in his sugar glider outfit and all I do is go in and a) check he's not dead, and b) stare at how cute he is. I want to slice off his cheeks and fry them up and eat them

2 artist {yrjo edelmann}

Oil on canvas people! These are not photographs. The artist is Finland born Yrjo Edelmann whose work is 'located in the territory between dream and experience' in order to 'delude the eye of the observer by conjuring forth a trompe-l’oeil image'. I think these are beyond as is his talent, I'm always so impressed with people who are able to trick the eye in such creative ways. Very clever.

I met this artist David Renggli while scrolling through Arent & Pyke's insta feed, the colours are what immediately grabbed my attention. I am obsessed with large scale abstracts at the moment and have envisioned whole rooms around David's work. This is something I would be thrilled to have hanging in my dining room. His Drums, please! 2012 exhibition is my favourite so far (click-ety click to take a look) and while I was day dreaming the other day about a concrete house filled with nothing but Dinosaur Designs I decided that this is the only artwork that would provide colour to the space - absolute perfection!

South Australian born sculptural artist Amy Joy Watson clearly appeals to my whimsical (and faceted) side. The 26 year old's work has been shown around Australia and has won her awards and scholarships. Her 'very, very handmade' work is a direct response to being able to get anything manufactured out of anything - very nostalgic and very beautiful! For more of her work visit her website

0 the professionals {bill sampson}

Being an avid 'The Block' viewer who loves to cringe at their bad taste and gets over joyed when they make good designing decisions I was palpitating over the art Kara and Kyle chose for the hotel room challenge this week. The artist is Australian Bill Sampson, one who is "Using and abusing a technique known as marbling, Sampson pours thin skeins of paint onto the skin-like surface of water then lets the paint take over, spooling in all directions with reckless assertion; little motors of churning colour." Click here to read a candid interview on ArtsHub and here to view more of his work at MARS gallery

2 the professionals {cj hendry}

Welcome to the insane talent of South African born, Brisbane based artist CJ Hendry. She creates the extraordinary from ordinary, classic objects, a skull, a pair of RM Williams, a crumpled Hermes bag found in a bin, the list goes on (all with the humble black pen). I can only imagine Hermes are panting to get her work in their windows pronto (if she's smart she will accept product for work) I discovered my love for her on Instagram (currently her only portal) and it was sealed with the orange bag.

Click here for a video of her defacing a Chanel via Est Magazine and fall in love with her work on Instagram

0 the professionals {emma lipscombe}

My favourite one of the lot - obsessed!

Clever, clever girl Emma Lipscombe is responsible for these geometric wonders. Emma is a Perth based artist interested in 'the confluence of geometric shape and colour'. This lady speaks my language, pink, facets and pattern. Emma was kind enough to answer a few questions for me...

How is each piece made? What is your process?
I'm a Landscape Architect by training so I have a strong background in design. I have an insatiable need to look at beautiful things, be it Art, Architecture, patterns, fashion or interiors by the likes of Ilse Crawford or Faye Toogood. Time spent living / working in London and travel in Europe has left a big imprint on my visual memory. There is a strong need to digest all of that and put it into paintings that are made of repetition and reduction.

Each painting is essentially a puzzle. I paint with my fingers and often the paint is layered until the mix of colours on the pattern looks right. I paint in the evening and often find myself lost in the process until late at night.

How long does each one take to create?
Depending on the size it can take anywhere between 1 week and 4. Sometimes I'll sideline a painting and revisit it and explore the colours further.

Your prints are screaming to be cushions, have you considered it?
No I haven't thought of it! Sounds nice though, I do love textiles!!

Where can people buy your work?
I have been in some group exhibitions and am planning a solo exhibition for next year. Otherwise I can be contacted directly.

Do you work on them everyday or you break in between each work?
I don't paint everyday though I do most days. I often have a couple on the go at the same time.

Which is your favourite and why?
I have a soft spot for Laplace & Co. I love it and I don't think it will ever be sold.

1 my kw inspired gift

So obvis I'm obsessed with Kelly Wearstler and my clever mother in law Anne creates these insane painted ostrich eggs, so when it came to thinking about my birthday egg I went straight to KW for inspiration. I obsess over these serpent panels all the time so it really was a no brainer. You can buy KW's serpent rugs here BTW

0 the professionals {gemma smith}

I remember - about 5 years ago - driving past the Sarah Cottier Gallery in Paddington, (on my way to spend some moolah over the other side of the bridge) my mouth watering over the latest offering from artist Gemma Smith. Since then, I have seen her faceted sculptures in the homes of some very lucky Australians in various shelter mags, one in particular made me very swoony, it was placed on a white plinth by a huge window in a cavernous polished concrete room by the harbour. I literally cannot stop thinking about the combination, especially after my recent trip to New Zealand where the houses were all concrete and wood, the perfect surrounds for a little juxtapositioned faceted delight (sighing)
