3 the one

I spied L'Wren Scott's cream wool boucle sofa when it was published in Vogue in 2012 and knew in my heart of hearts that this was but a pipe dream (I want kids so that rules it out immediately), fancy then Jules and I trying out 'feeding chairs' and finding the most comfortable heavenly chair that ever did exist then looking at the price tag and realising that this was a little a lot over budget, thank you Saarinen Womb chair. Fancy further that the next day when I was at my favourite haunt Mitchell Road Antiques that there, smack bang, dead centre of the shop is a cream wool boucle Womb chair, and it's a third of the price. Queue heart quickening and credit card whipping out. SOLD! and firmly ensconced in the nursery awaiting a good scotch guard. I think I may have some kind of furniture fairy overing over me

The original design, as per Florence Knoll's request in 1948

0 a chair a day {tom dixon}

Where were you when I needed you Tom Dixon Y chair? You would have been the perfect compliment to my dining table (not that I can complain, I loves what I have) But the bunny ears!? I mean they are adorable, just enough whimsy mixed with GOOD design. This chair was 2 years in the making and officially launched last September in London. It is made from glass reinforced nylon built to withstand the daily abuse of the modern world. Does anyone know if they're in Sydney yet?

1 a chair a day {the new york}

This is the New York chair by Saba Italia. Imagine slamming yourself into one of these at the end of a long day. This chair absolutely chooses comfort as well as style, it's almost a little cocoon like. Of course the Hermes orange gets me every time but scroll down to see the blue velvet, sigh

1 praise jesus

Praise Jesus the girl has finally settled on a chair. First it was the Bertoia, then the Le Corbusier Bentwood in white, then the Starck Masters, then the Bludot Real Good chair, then the white mesh also from Bludot and now... the original and best Peep favourite - the Konstantin Grcic Magis Ones chair, and here's my point of difference, with a seat pad. A bloody beauty pink seat pad! First I need to secure the chairs then I will find someone to make me a set of pads - EXCITED

5 chairs

It's official, I finally have a bloody table top! The photo is not the best I know but I am shooting it in July then you can see it properly. So now, the chairs. I have 3 contenders: the Masters (left), Bertoia (top right) and a little gem from Bludot (bottom right) - thoughts?

2 dining saga continues

Yes, yes, the saga continues, what the hell am I going to do with this base? Glass isn't for me, the marble doesn't fit and will white be too boring? I am getting a quote for a white shiny hexagonal top which would make accessorising the chairs easier but I am still not 100% sure. I LOVE these hounds tooth chairs from Kartell but sadly cannot afford the $1500 per chair price tag. The cow hide is a loan from a girlfriend who had it in storage and I think it looks perfect under the gold. I really do need to make a decision quick about this so we can start having people over!

This little vignette is in the dining room, I am smoothing out the springbok hide and need to move it as it's a little too much with the cow hide next door, my favourite bench is staying, as is the Lady Gaga meat pic, fitting for a dining room, no?

1 coco

I walked through Coco Republic for a little 'pre moving' inspiration. This seat/table/chaise in the softest, buttery caramel leather was my first pick (I can only image it would be ruined after a few weeks from leather scratches). Also this club chair below, very modern and masculine

This faux shagreen Astor desk below was HEAVEN

and of course I fell for their lamps, namely the Smoked Crystal Tapered delight

Then there was this side table that brings out the creative in you (for a large sum of money mind you), my choice would be the gold with an eggshell top

and finally, the gem encrusted Macy side tables

5 help

So you know how I found my happy place when I stumbled upon this dining table base (above) a few weeks back? Well I have decided to disassemble my tulip marble dining table (below) and use the marble top on the gold base but now my idea of having Bertoia's is moot, as it will clash with the gold. I need help with finding the right dining chair. I am thinking I will have to go safe white but I am happy to be challenged on this one. Any suggestions?

What about these Starck Masters chairs?

0 speaking of triangles

speaking of triangles, i spied this tan leather wassily at goodwill the other day. i feel like i need to become an expert on  how to spot the real from the fake so i did a little research and tis is what i found...

the end of the metal tubes should not have any welding, it should look smooth and continuous, if the ends have caps it's fake. recent models will also have a serial number and breuer's signature stamped on the base. the measurements also have to correspond to the original knoll

there you have it!

4 things i have seen that i like

have i made a serious error in NOT buying this wassily chair at salvos? oh god, maybe, but i can't buy everything i see can i? (not if my parents garage have anything to say about it) i did however buy this brass lamp for it's golden goodness, i just need to replace the shade - thoughts?

keith haring dominos at macleay on manning and urchin/octopus delights at becker minty

went over to han's house and was reminded how much i miss my 'things', especially the sumo book. how sweet is this little array of gifts from the MIL?

and finally, really, i cannot get enough of my girl dr. nikki's vintage vuitton trunk (she justified it by saying it was her first piece of 'investment art', which i guess it technically is) either way, it's heaven and i hope she leaves it to me in her will (love u golden)
