2 mr/pinchy/&/co

"Mr Pinchy & Co has been born out of an obsession for unique designer objects. Fused in tradition our designs embody classic, quirky modern and iconic interpretations in the form of gold & silver cast brass objects. Made in open fire kilns burning at over 1000 degrees centigrade using age old techniques passed down
from generation to generation our Artisans carve wax casts, which are then packed with black volcanic soil and poured with brass eroding the wax and forming the pattern of the cast"

basically these metallic beauties are the things dreams are made of as far as I'm concerned. i would like to place an order for butch the gun, rock of love and my favourite - chompa. peep the rest of the collection here

thank you Loni from Adore home magazine for recommending i check this out - you know me too well...

3 phuket purchases

when i was over in phuket i made a very modest 2 purchases, one was a sharks jaw, those teeth are beyond sharp i have nearly cut myself about 16 squillion times. i plan to use him in a vignette on my new buffet which of course i will share with you all!

the second purchase was this traditional thai wedding head dress. it looks quite old but it had just been out in the sun forever and was delightfully bleached, the lady asked if i wanted a fresh one but i loved the look of the faded black linen. it's covered in seed pods and has a tin backing. now all i need is a metal black stand for it, any ideas where to purchase?

0 karim rashid strikes again

karim rashid has gone and designed something else i am lusting over, first it was my desk chair, now its these delectable 'knowledge in the brain' bookends, it comes as no suprise that my choice is the white with pink brain but it also exists in the more masculine black with gold brain. i think these need to move out of the lust list and into the buy list - australian stockists?

2 tai snaith

i have been meaning to post about this book that my brother and his lady love got me for my birthday a few years back. it was custom made for me by artist tai snaith and it's one of my most favourite things. it is painted on a vintage psychology book (i work in that field) that she bought. book usually lives on my desk inside a glass display box with some other curiosities which i will hopefully remember to photograph for you v soon. i think she is exceptionally talented and creative. i have since been given another of her illustrations that hangs in my hallway and i can't wait to add a new piece to my collection. peep the rest of her work here.

and FINALLY, i got my hands on the september issue for a price that i am not embarassed about! sure it has some wear and tear, but what good magazine doesn't? so thrilled i can stop recieving ebay alerts for issues that cost $400...
