i am looking for a new hall table and think i have found the one - mango hard wood new york console from shack. while there i saw a beauty of a buffet (the california large) i love the large scale of it and the round smooth edges, it looks so clean and fresh. the only change i would make is to have more drawers. this leads me to my next hunt - the console with lots-o-drawers. i think it would be a good replacement for my book shelf in the study which i am totally o.v.e.r. so much so that the accoutrement in said bookshelf is busily being redistributed/styled as we speak. i am thinking of getting one of these for my novels next to my desk and then having console sitting pretty somewhere else.

more pressing though than all of these is a floor lamp for behind the couch in the lounge room - overhead lighting is the bane of my exsistence and my lamp doesnt really provide enough light, so off to home HQ i go for the billionth weekend in a row...

i remember seeing this jewelry in UK Vogue back in 2010 and saving a picture of the silver brooch. i was flicking through said vogue today and stumbled on the same article. these hand crafted one of a kind pieces are the creation of sophia mann, a graduate of london's central saint martins who got her big break with sotheby's. they are inspired by the human skeleton's framework and are made from semi precious and precious stones, beads and metal - read quite expensive, but in my opinion worth every penny (pound).

i am jelly. beyond jelly in fact. my cousin just went to paris and made the best decision of her life. she bought a black caviar leather chanel 2.55 - exactly what i want. being slightly older than her i feel it was my duty to be the first to make that purchase but she has gone and interrupted the natural order of things (don't mind the fact that she can actually afford one and i can't). perhaps she will lend her to me one day or at least leave her to me in her will. green.with.envy.amelia...

i have been helping a girlfriend pack today - something that has become a bit of a regular job for me (she travels very often and brings me back pressies from sephora so i am very happy to help), she is a hopeless editor and we end up with piles and piles of neatly folded (by me) clothes that she subsequently tears through re trying on outfits 'just to make sure'. i love neat piles of anything but particularly clothes - bonus points for nautical stripes, denim and grey, triple points if the stack includes a candy pink balenciaga giant city...

3 a combination and a farewell

some heavy neutral work for your perusal - today i find myself in black and neutral and i thought to myself how much i liked this combination. on a more serious and painful note - i got a call from miu miu yesterday saying there had been a mix up and my wedding shoes were not available anymore, i politely asked why and she said there was a mix up in in italy and my size was no longer available anywhere in the world. she said she begged and pleaded knowing they were my wedding shoes but there was nothing they could do...she then asked if i had tried net-a-porter...does she really think i would pay retail for these shoes in australia if i absolutey didnt have to!? i replied that i had tried net-a-porter, and shopbop, shopstyle, mytheresa, barneys, bluefly, yoox, nordstrom and saks - miu miu sydney store, you were a last resort...she vowed to send me pictures from prada and miu miu until we find the perfect shoe but i dont think that will happen in a hurry. so it's goodbye dream shoes, we were obviously never meant to be...

i enjoy jonathan adler greatly, and i love his use of colour and his accessories, just in small doses - like his little ceramic jars labelled 'dolls, peyote, uppers, downers' etc or a sweet initial pillow, even some of his retro white ceramics. i love the orange and pink in his new york home he shares with barneys window dresser superstar simon doonan, but most of all i loved his highly amusing manifesto - read it and giggle here peeps.

1 summer sunnies

i decided i needed wanted some new sunnies for summer but i didn't want to spend muchas moolah unless i knew what suited me. i always buy my sunnies online because they are literally 10 times cheaper so i can't always try them on, so what i decided to do was buy the cheap versions from ebay of the styles i liked and road test them, then go out and buy the real deal. i found both these styles from the one seller and it cost me a measly $25 including shipping for both! beauty! they both fit perfectly and look great, so great that Hannah got me to buy her both pairs IMMEDIATELY after she saw me in them today. these were a great buy, exactly what i wanted with no gross labels on the side - i may not even upgrade!
