1 hemnes

I have decided on the IKEA Hemnes chest of 3 drawers for the kidlets room and have also chosen the new drawer handles, the carved horn panther heads below from Mother of Pearl

Is there anything else fun I can do to make it less generic that doesn't make them too DIY? I know most people will suggest Overlays, I think these are my only options there though and I don't think it will suit the style of the nursery. So any other suggestions are gratefully welcomed! I would kind of like to do something dramatic like this below (via here) but I would probably stuff it up, anything easier you can think of?

1 superfront

You may recall a post I did on My Overlays, a bloody brilliant company that helped make all your IKEA a little more flash, this company SUPERFRONT takes it to another level. Think rose gold hardware, fancy facades, leather drawer pulls and all those things that make a piece of furniture enviable instead of generic and all made to fit IKEA cabinets...swoon!

0 IKEA {unfreeze your winter}

IKEA sent me a voucher to spend in store and write about my ideas for keeping summer inside during the cooler months to coincide with their unfreeze your winter campaign. For me, when I think of summer I think of colour/pattern, entertaining and a bit of whimsy - something IKEA brings to the masses on the cheap. I chose what I loved and would make me smile when I walked in the door everyday: this Ludde sheepskin, some fun eyes and lips printed fabrics, this whimsical cushion and these accent cushions.

Entertaining allows for something a little more risque as it's not permanent. How much fun to walk into a cosy home during the dead of winter and see these pop art lips staring up at you from the table. Pink lifts my spirits every time!

I wanted to use these items in realistic ways, well realistic for me anyway! So adding the black and white graphic print cushions with the lips immediately lifted the mood of my bedroom, how can you not smile when you see it? That to me is what keeping summer inside during winter is all about, keeping things pretty similar all year round and updating the look with colour and pattern.

IKEA has thousands of ways to keep summer alive during winter, click here to read more about the campaign and thank you IKEA for including me in the campaign!

5 IKEA {lovely wedding magazine}

loni invited hannah and i to create an entry on beahlf of lovely wedding magazine for an IKEA challenge to create a wedding scene for under $500 using their product exclusively. both han and i were thrilled to take up the challenge and invited abby - an amazing up and coming florist - to do the flowers. first was sorting out a location (you could shoot in store or at a venue of your choice) han walks her dogs through this little forest all the time and had been dying to shoot something here so it was kind of a no brainer.

everything arrives, and i spend hours making these pom-poms

shoot day and abby has made the most exquisite arrangements

abby hard at work with her little creations

can't wait to show you the final shot in a few days time - wish us luck!
