0 adore shoot {rc}

H and I were lucky enough to visit the home of the ever colourful Rachel Castle to shoot her daughter's bedroom and later at her studio for Adore. Rachel's home is exquisite. I cannot say enough how amazing it is, rumour has it someone very talented will be shooting it soon so look out for it in a glossy this year. I will be dreaming of fat parquetry and black rimmed windows for weeks...

and in between shoots we had a sneaky trip to Mitchell Rd where I found a pair of dream boat chairs, $660 for the pair, unfortunately I have to sleep on these for a week and I bet they're gone by the time next weekend rolls around...

1 mitchell road

i feel like i haven't had a mitchell road visit for freakin' ages so i had my hopes up when i eventually got there on my second last day of freedom (before returning to work). the first thing i clapped my eyes on was this rather odd chair, if you can't work out what it is, it's because it is resting on top of a couch as they are all very crammed in - it's kind of like a tripod chair, i could't decide if i loved it or hated it. looking back at it now i think it's the latter but you know me + chairs + fur!

no visit to mitchell road is complete without stopping in at drawing room theory - it's goodness knows no bounds, like these paper cranes

unfortunately this faceted steel structure below was sold - i will have to ask brian if he can get another...

up stairs i spied this lamp and fell in love

and this guy!

this giant clam was 900 clams, which, after a visit to coco republic the next day seemed cheap as they sell fake ones for $1200!

sweet light and specimen box full of crystals

not the most exciting visit but then again it makes it that much sweeter when you find gold...

2 a morning of perusing {plus a small purchase}

another visit to my beloved 'drawing room theory' at the mitchell road antique centre. the store now has a wall that divides it from the rest of the warehouse (the cages) and on it hangs this amazing Mongolian tribal garb which felt like it was made from horse hair. this floor lamp below nearly left me hyperventilating i am so in love with it, but i feel something that grand needs a very large space - something i do not have!

another sinfully delicious lamp below...

and that photograph behind it? SO GOOD!

this light (below) is something i haven't seen before, it reminds me of these lindsey adams adelman lights from space

out in the main warehouse were a few treasures, these horns and the mirrored drinks cart

and this fight scene between a spider and scorpion was pretty cool

vintage looking letters....

next stop coco republic design centre where i spied this beautiful atlas and the gold jaws (swooning, but not for $700)

and finally a stop in at space furniture...

oh, and the purchase? a dying ficus tree from MRAC to dry out, cover in fairy lights and use as decoration for $24!

3 another visit to mitchell road

han and i went on a mission to find her a new bench for her front porch, we were led a little astray by the delights on offer at mitchell road. take stool below, look familiar?  why, why did i have to see you at a time i am po' folk? i have no currency to collect you chair! please still be there when my wallet is a little more fat...

we went to swoon over everything brian hoy has to offer at drawing room theory

i have put him on the job of finding me a big fat amethyst crystal cluster

hannah bought this bad boy below for.........$45! its a chanel bag in a chair! she has no where for it to go but who could resist?

lightening bolt feet above and anatomy below

this box of bones was a little too tempting for me at $155 but i did resist (for now at least)

and finally - also at DRT - we discovered these heavenly kitchen chopping boards/serving platters in stones and marbles, very heavy but very lovely
