This is the Ekstrem chair designed by Terje Ekstrom in 1972 as a prototype and 12 years later commercialised by Varier Furniture. As you know, I love a sculptural chair (if I had my way I would live in a house with only chairs, does that speak to my inherent laziness or can I just say I love good design?) and this one would give me heart palpies if I saw her in the flesh I bet. There was one up on eBay in beige the other day in Queensland but it was pick up only and some lucky bugger snapped it up quick smart. It kind of looks like a gorilla from side on don't you think? Weird, but GOOD!
