west elm origami coffee table

i am sick of my coffee table so this post is the beginning of my inspiration board...

when hannah and i shot tait outdoor for adore home magazine i fell in love with their jill low coffee table (below) and this one above from west elm is giving me head spins. why can't we get cool furniture like this in australia that doesn't cost the earth and can be shipped?

something we do now have here is alexandra von furstenberg's insanely good acrylic accessories at peter's of kensington (of all places!?)

this pink chiclet bowl from peters of kensington would look super on my fantasy table

and some more round shiny would be good to layer, except i want a colour, not white, this one from brauer birds is perfect, bar the colour, any suggestions? would painting it work? would the paint chip? can you get chip resistant paint?

help me!

  1. I just made a bar tray from a fantastic tray I bought at T2 for $45 it is called the Hindi tray and is beaten silver. Looks super cool.

  2. Only suggestion is to get it re-two pac'ed in derired colour. A joinery or kitchen manufacturer would be able to give you a quote. Or maybe a car detailer? Love the little bowl!

    1. hmmm, pardon my ignorance but what does 'get it re-two pac'ed' mean?

  3. Not sure about painting the tray...did you check the shipping on the west elm table? A friend of mine got some rugs and side tables from there recently and it wasn't ridiculous. How good is that brauer birds shop - thanks for the intro!

  5. Hi Claudia. The tray is painted in 'two-pac' which is 2-pack polyurethane paint. This is what most kitchen and joinery doors are painted in. It's slow to chip and is available in any colour your heart desires! I'm sorry that my "get it re-two pac'ed" comment was so confusing! I meant get it re sprayed in the same way it was manufactured, but in your choice of colour.
