in 1953 architecture patron J. Irwin Miller comissioned famed finish-american architect eero saarinen to build his home with a heavy focus on entertaining, hence the 'conversation pit'. the columbus, indiana home was completed in 1957 and is now owned by the indianapolis museum of art after it was declared a national historic landmark. the interiors were designed by architect and designer Alexander Girard and the landscaping was completed by landscape architect daniel urban kiley. check out their amazing modernist magic...
