i know i have shown you this before but these are some better pics. hannah liked my 'brains' under the dome - it is actually nylon rope that costs $14.95 from bunnings and it comes in different colours but u know me and pink! the hermes bag is scarf-y ready to go to the framers, so excited to have her up
another vogue living discovery - south african expat, melbourne based pop sculptor christopher langton. i am so attracted to pop art, its usually so clean and fresh and bright, exactly how i like my spaces to feel.
i was reading woogsworld when she talked about having a lady crush on my favorite and my best, who introduced me to the online emporium furbish. what an absolute beauty - no longer do i have to sell my soul for a kelly wearstler (esque) spike!
carine/irreverent arrived today and she is a beauty. the book is actually floppy and soft, cased in a hard shell and the pages are papery, not glossy - so excited to give it the first once over...
as seen in this months vogue living australia, noel skrzypczak is a canadian born, canberra bred artist. although warned by her mother at an early age that a career as an artist would not be financially fruitful or mentally stable, she forged ahead. her goal? "to set the paint free" and make the viewer feel like they are flying. i love the colours and vibrancy of her paintings. to read a full interview with the design filesclick here.
i had to share hannah's desk at work - she does the best mood boards, and they change all the time which i love! (p.s. notice her award for ACP designer of the year hiding behind the orchid frond? so proud)
another shot from hannah showcasing my newest acquisition, t-rex. he cost 4.95 clams from professor plums (one of my all time favourite shops, full of science related things)
how exciting. i got an email this morning from real living magazine asking me to respond to a reader who had commented on the lamps she saw in my bedroom in their mag. i didn't even know my room was in it! there is a competition to win an outdoor set so i entered ages ago and they published my pic (top left) in the october issue!
thanks again martha for another beauty of a place setting! peep the new bleus d'ailleurs porcelain from hermes, blue and white perfection (below), and from vogue living this month, painterly prova prima tableware (below)
a few new additions from my engagement party (table cloth, laguiole knives and mateus dish) birthdays (the tray was my first ever gift from Julian's mum) and just because (my mum made me the Italian linen table runner which i love) - all to be used tonight when i have my parents, brother and his fiance for dinner.
some jewels i am coveting at the moment. in the mix: pamela love, anita ko and eddie borgo - natch. i'm going to try to convince my betrothed that he needs the eddie borgo skull signet ring for the wedding. and of course, these brands are all sold on net-a-porter if you are interested in making a very clever purchase.
flipping through US elle, i found the best looking toiletry bag i have seen in ages, from the south american influenced hammocks and high tea. they "offer a modern perspective on traditional, global textiles. their hand crafted collection uses eco friendly fibers and water based, solvent free inks". they also sell tea towels, cushions, candles, clutch bags and totes. peep the rest of the collection here.
i went on a book frenzy the other day and now these three bad boys are busily on their way to me. i love getting a package of a book, especially ones i have been meaning to buy for ages (well, i have been on the waiting list with amazon for you carine for months!) and as for the russian criminal tattoo encyclopedia i have been waiting for a reprint of this for ages to complete my set - tick! the vogue people parties places i flicked through in the acne store in paddington, a v. attractive one to add to my ever growing collection. books are the best accessory for the home.
we went shopping for le smoking a few weekends ago and came accross Harrolds. holy moses. that shop is HEAVEN! the fit out for starters is crazy beautiful and there are dedicated rooms for each designer - a tom ford room, i mean! AHS kept wandering back into the tom ford room not for the clothes, but the gay man with the dreamy eyes...she went back again at a later date just to revisit him. we found a jacket, ysl no less, and it is exquisite but a little out of our price range...we also happened upon trays and trays of tom ford bow ties, we're thinking the polka dot, plus his best man has the houndstooth and that would be cute together. the shoes, the bags, everything in this shop is covetable. go peep it for yourself! p.s. how amazing is the couch and those expertly karate chopped cushions.
thank you, thank you, thank you interiors porn via skona hem for posting this glorious bathroom (left). i have just begun collecting dinosaurs so this one is a particular beauty for me. and the one on the right, those sinks, mirrors and sconces are symmetrical perfection.
the INCREDIBLE hotel designed by maison martin margiela with 57 rooms, 5 junior suites and 6 suites. some named: lost moldings, gilded lounge, white cover, curiosity and deluxe couture suites. you must click on over to take the full tour. this place is exquisite. i am particularly obsessed with those honey combed chairs and the trompe l'oeil wall finishings.
love these bad boys from Barney's but of course they are all sold out in my size. i have an ebay alert on and have a friend in LA on a mission to find them for me. desperate...
a few snaps from the party at my parents place - willis was helping create the flowers. unfortunately we all kind of forgot to take pics during the party...whoops!
my very impressive friends got me a very impressive gift. i am having heart palpitations about it. i had previously blogged about this scarf and hannah, being the very clever kind friend that she is, went in with jacqui to get me this exquisite hermes scarf. i am beside myself with excitement and gratitude. thank you so much girls, it will look AMAZING and perfect above my hall table. so excited!
my engagement party was last night and it was brilliant. as you can see we ended up having the candy bar which was incredible. thankyou for your HUGE effort hannah and alice, two amazingly creative and very kind friends - i love u! also thank you to rosie at acp for helping - very kind of u
okay, so this is actually a childs play room. i am freaking out a little bit. it is inhabited by Donny Deutsch's children in his new york mansion. "The girls’ playroom has a Ron Arad for Moroso sofa and chairs, cupcake seats by Jellio, and a smiling Takashi Murakami cloud; the painting in the niche is by David Deutsch, Donny’s father, and the cowhide rug is from Patterson, Flynn & Martin." so who is this donny fellow? click here to find out...and click here to peep the rest of his place.
